Financial protection is something I’m thinking about more and more as I watch the government spend money as fast as it is printed. It got me to thinking about my blog from yesterday.

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 (NIV)

How does this relate to financial protection? That is a great question because it doesn’t seem apparent on first inspection.

Here we see that God definitely wants you to have wisdom. Seems so mundane, doesn’t it. But is this consistent to what we talked about in an earlier post?

If you recall, the original sin written about in the Bible was the woman eating from the “tree in the middle of the garden.” The tree, according to Genesis 2:6, had the characteristic of being desirable for gaining wisdom. It was a “smart pill.”

So was man set up by God to fail? Was the tree put into the garden in order for man to be tempted to eat of it?

I ask this question because we see from the verse (shown above), that God wants man to have wisdom. But on the other hand, there is this tree that gives instant wisdom that man was told not to eat from. Which is it supposed to be?

Why would God do that? Why would he put this “wisdom” fruit in the garden when he wants you to have “wisdom,” and then at the same time tell you not to eat it.

The reason is simple. I think that God wants you to ask him for it. He wants the relationship with man, and for man to make half an effort toward him. If you think about it that way, it makes perfect sense, especially if you are a Christian. The relationship is the most important thing to God, so he just wants to make sure you come to him for wisdom — just like a child might go to a parent for food to eat.

But this brings up another question: why does God want us to have wisdom? What benefit does it have for us or for him that we should have it?

The answer is found in this verse of the bible:

Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you;
love her, and she will watch over you.
Proverbs 4:5 (NIV)

The added benefit of getting wisdom is “protection.” Protection from what? From everything that would try to bring you down and destroy you. That’s what.

It is really hard for God to have any type of relationship with you if you’re dead. This isn’t too hard to grasp, is it? That’s why he wants you to have it.

So if you have wisdom, not only are you going to create wealth, but it comes with a bonus protection plan. In other words, since this article is about creating wealth, you’ll be smart enough to make money, and you’ll be intelligent enough to get some financial protection for that wealth.

Here’s an example. You work your tail to the bone to make money, and at the same time our government is spending money recklessly and needs more. Of course they’re going to come after your stash with massive new taxes. So I bet you have some safe havens for that money that you’ve been storing away. Maybe you’re getting ready for a possible financial meltdown of our banking system. Your wisdom is telling you that you need to be prepared, as suggested by my friend Rob Northrup at his web site Simple Survival Guide. Being prepared is always a sign of wisdom. Making money and stashing it away go hand-in-hand when you get wisdom.

That’s kinda cool, isn’t it? When you make money God’s way, he also has a built in financial protection program for you.

Always Start By Getting Wisdom

In order to have some money that requires financial protection, you first have to make it. That is where the “get wisdom” comes in. If you are just starting out making money online, I would highly suggest The Science Of Influence by Dr. Kevin Hogan. It is how I started out my journey, and got me to where I am today. Since human behavior really doesn’t change (which is why the Bible is still very much relevant today), this is a great place to start.

Now you’re thinking that I’m just telling this to you in order to make an affiliate commission. To be honest, while it would be nice to make a commission, I want to see you succeed more. I’d like for you to say someday that this website helped you out on your journey to creating wealth. So if you don’t go to the page to get more information about the Science of Influence, it is only a delay of your increase in wisdom. If you delay the wisdom inflow, you also delay the inflow of money into your life.

Use your computer mouse to click on over to the Science of Influence now.

I was just reading on another blog about protecting your home from intruders. It seems like we are all trying to protect ourselves, our family and our money from outside influence. I think that you are right in that the best we can do is to use our own wisdom to do what we think will work best to protect what is ours.

Tim, You posed some really crucial questions about God’s purpose and design for wisdom. I hope people don’t complicate the simplicity of your answers. I really like how you emphasis the relationship. I had a dear friend’s voice echo, “Just ask Kevin, just ask” as I read about God wanting us to ask him for wisdom.

From Gideon’s selection of 300 to Jacob and the years of feast leading to the years of famine. The bible is full of examples of those who keep their eyes open to their surroundings being rewarded with safety. It certainly teaches this is a two-way street. Not only a blessing, but a reward for action on the part of the prepared.

As with the Biblical story of the talents, I believe God wants us to DO something in order to prosper, not just sit back and wait for the money bus to drive up to our door. And I think that Dr. Hogan has the best model for ethical money and life enhancement I ever seen. Good blending of the two.

Sadly, actions by the US Government is putting everyone’s financial situation in jeopardy. As we slowly lose our freedoms and slide down the road towards tyranny we need to trust in God more than ever.

is wisdom at it’s finest. Thanks for including that in today’s post.

There is great wisdom in preparing yourself for the storms of life. Many of these storms come at random, others you can see for months and years ahead, not knowing exactly when they might strike.

It is better to be prepared one year too early than one hour too late.

I have really concentrated on making a frugal life and cutting down on silly purchases mad on impulse.

I’d be a lot wealthier if I just stopped spending my money on silly get rich quick schemes that I neither had the time nor the money to complete.
