If being fruitful and helping others is the vehicle that carries you down the road to wealth and making money online, then what is the key that starts the engine?

The key that starts it is called “wisdom.”

Wisdom is the ability to discern difference. It is such a short definition, but it is packed with power that will help you make money online. Here are some examples: What is the difference between choosing option A and option B? Why go this direction instead of going that direction? Where is the best place to invest to make the most money – FAST!?

Every choice you make has an upside and and downside. Wisdom is the process of thinking ahead and looking at both the upside and the downside, in order to choose the option that will get you to your destination the fastest.

Who Would You Invest Money In?

Imagine that two people came up to you asking you to invest your money in their business. Both are flat broke. To whom would you give the money? You’re probably saying, that is dumb, I wouldn’t give money to either of them. I agree with that, because if both of them are broke, your thinking that neither one of them would make a good manager. And you’re right. Why? Because if they are broke, they did something or didn’t do something to get them into that condition.

As an aside, why do you think banks ask about your work history when you ask them for a loan? Right. They want to know how good you are at making decisions, and how much wisdom you really have.

Now you find out that one of the two broke people just got out of jail. You’re thinking, the option just got easier now, right? Well… the name of the person that just got out of jail is Martha Stewart.

That makes a big difference, right?

Martha Stewart has built a business empire in the past, and she has a lot of business knowledge that gives her an edge in business. She has wisdom to make best choices that are more likely than the other person to help her make money for you.

Wisdom is HUGE. And we’re going to talk about it a lot, because it is the only key that will start the engine to your money machine. Without it, you’re like the broke person that asked you for investment money – ain’t gonna happen. With it, even though you’re flat broke, you have an excellent chance to make money on the internet.

The bible make it very clear that having wisdom is the golden key to success:

By your wisdom and understanding
you have gained wealth for yourself
and amassed gold and silver
in your treasuries.
Ezekiel 28:4

Notice that it doesn’t say “by your love,” or “by your hard work” have you gained wealth. It is by “wisdom and understanding.” That is interesting, right?

Does that excite you? It excites me to no end.

Question for Today: How does wisdom differ from knowledge?

That was great! I didn’t see that one coming at all. I was picturing two bums. I wasn’t expecting Martha Stewart. Great illustration of your point. She is a great example for that.

    Tim,

You are very passionate about this! Great example of Martha Stewart.

I guess I was wise in choosing my line of work. It’s a mulit-billion $$ business. Can’t wait to see where you’re going with this.

Knowledge is power. Wisdom is the power to use knowledge, well, knowledgeably. (is that a word?)

Tim, I LOVE this website! Truly. It is fun to read and thought provoking! The color scheme is calming and just right for the topic!

Wisdom gives you the info you need to make decisions, and also helps you to know the timing that makes sense for that decision.

Knowledge is more generic to me than wisdom. It is a bunch of facts and formulas. Wisdom is the ability to apply knowledge to life.

And I doubt if Martha Stewart was ever even close to broke. But she was in jail. Donald Trump however has been broke, but he has never been to jail.

How do you acquire wisdom? Are you born being wise, or do you learn to become wise? Are there people out there who are unable to be wise (beside those who are mentally unable)?

Man I sure could use more wisdom. I was told once to read one chapter a day in Proverbs every day for a year and you would see a tremendous improvement.

To me, wisdom includes discernment. It includes an element of experience. You can get knowlege out of a book…but not wisdom.

“Wisdom is the process of thinking ahead and looking at both the upside and the downside, in order to choose the option that will get you to your destination the fastest.”
This is such a great definition and so true that we need to practice our wisdom as we move forward. This is what will help us to be truly successful. There is no room for impulsive decisions.

What a great definaition of wisdom. Martha does know how to make money, she just need to be a bit more honest..

Tim, Wisdom is valuable only once it is applied. There are plenty of professors who can not find their way out of a wet paper bag. In a sense I only half way agree.

Martha did not learn wisdom in jail just as The Donald did not have to go to jail to learn wisdom. With what I have learned over the years is to look at an oppertunity with a cautious eye but do not discount someone because they are broke. If they were sucessful before they have the ability to be sucessful again.

Phenomenal post. Right on the money!!! I agree with Sonya. Unfortunately too many people confuse knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge is just knowing something, wisdom is having the discernment to act or not to act on that knowledge for everyone’s best interest. Keep up the great posts.

Great post Tim, great use of the financially-challenged people in your story… but tell me how do wisdom and knowledge work together? Because it would seem that knowledge is needed first that wisdom can discern the differences…, no?
